It's  Too Expensive...And 7 Other Study Away Lies 
         This  workshop debunks eight common study away lies. A panel of Virginia  Wesleyan University study away students discuss how they overcame these lies or  how they just are not true, especially with prior planning!
How to Apply for a Passport and a REAL ID 
        This workshop discusses the steps necessary to obtain a passport and a   REAL ID. Topics discussed include the required documents needed to apply   for the two important documents.
Being a Woman Abroad 
        This workshop features a discussion of the realities of being a woman   studying abroad. The panel consists of Ashley Whipple ‘18, who studied   in Tanzania, Audrey Bally ‘21, who studied in Japan, and Brianna Sandy   ‘21, who studied in Morocco. In addition, the guest moderator is Dr.   Lydia Kennedy, Associate Professor of Mathematics, who spent a semester   studying abroad in Hungary.
Learning Abroad Center: Summer International Internship Opportunities 
        This workshop is the third in the four-part series on opportunities   available for summer international internships. In this session, staff from the University of Minnesota's Learning Abroad Center discuss virtual internship opportunities. Topics discussed include the application process, available job fields, and support services provided. The session also includes student testimonials and example placements.
International Studies Abroad (ISA): Summer International Internship Opportunities 
        This workshop is the final in the four-part series on opportunities   available for summer international internships. In this session, staff   from ISA discuss   virtual internship opportunities. Topics discussed include the   application process, available job fields, and support services   provided. Critical Language Scholarship 
          This workshop provides information about the Critical Language   Scholarship, a United States government funded summer language program.   Examples of languages available include: Indonesian, Turkish, Arabic,   and Japanese. A representative from CLS and two student ambassadors   discuss the program, provide application tips, and answer questions.
Council on International Educational Exchange: Summer International Internship Opportunities

Institutional Review Board (IRB): Writing and Submitting the Application 
          Students who are conducting research with human subjects should watch this online workshop, which reviews the process of writing and submitting the required application to Virginia Wesleyan University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). The workshop explains the basics of the IRB application form and common shortfalls of applications. 
Going Pro: Taking Your Library Research Skills to the Next Level 
          This online workshop prepares students to conduct advanced library   research. Students are empowered to maximize Virginia Wesleyan’s   research assistance and resources. It is taught by members of the   library research faculty.
Citations: Understanding the Philosophy of Academic Documentation 
          This online workshop offers instruction on citing sources. It focuses on   the rationale for academic citations, explains when citations are   necessary, and reviews tools that help with citations. It also provides   an introduction to formatting citations using various academic   conventions. Students are introduced to a free online reference   management tool, Mendeley.
Creating an Oral Presentation 
        This online workshop explains how to create an oral presentation that   effectively represents an internship or undergraduate research   experience. It focuses on the technical elements of presentation design   as well as oral communication strategies.
Creating a Poster Presentation for Undergraduate Research and Internships 
        This online workshop explains how to create a poster that effectively represents an internship or undergraduate research experience. The information focuses on the technical elements of poster design, content, and discusses strategies for effective poster presentations.
