Felix Bevc, Class of 2024
 Frankfurt, Germany
Major(s): Chemistry, with a minor in Mathematics
Why did you choose Virginia Wesleyan University?
I was recruited by my tennis coach and got a Batten Fellowship. It is a combination of the Batten Honors College and the Tennis Team that sold VWU to me.
What is most different from what you were used to at home?
Probably the distances and for how many things and how often you use a car.
What were some of your biggest challenges in adjusting to college life in another country?
I honestly thought that it went quite easy. If anything, it is probably getting used to sharing a kitchen/bathroom/living area with other people. That would be a similar situation back home though, I have just never been to college outside of the U.S.
What campus activities are you involved in?
I am part of the tennis team and also, by now, in a few honors societies. I attend quite a few of the Batten Honors College events as well.
What advice would you give to other students coming to VWU from another country?
Make sure to take advantage of the small class sizes. The professors know you and want to help you succeed.
What do you hope to do after graduation from college?
I want to continue studying chemistry and get a Ph.D.
