How is Army CA different from Federal Tuition Assistance?
While both types of funds are used for education, they are quite different. Federal Tuition Assistance cannot be used to obtain a lower-level or lateral degree. On the other hand, Army CA funding can be requested for training that leads to or renews an additional credential, license, or certification in any qualified high-demand career field.

Can you use Tuition Assistance and Army Credentialing Assistance simultaneously?
Yes, you can combine Federal Tuition Assistance and Army CA funding to earn the education you want. But the combined funding cannot exceed the Army CA limit of $4,000 each year.

What class materials are covered by Army CA funding?
Army CA will pay for all necessary books, supplies, and other materials required for your training and examination in qualified courses.

When can you start applying for the Army CA Program?
The program launched in 2020 and is now available Army-wide, and you can apply for Army CA funding immediately if you are an eligible soldier. The process of being approved for and enrolled in a course can take 30 days, so it’s important to get started right away.
