Aidan Foley
 
Aidan Foley is a Music Education major from Northport, New York. He is an active member of the Wesleyan community, often seen hosting Shack-a-thons and supporting the Black Student Union. After graduation, he plans to be a high school music teacher.
What is your BHC-related memory?
Making friends at orientation in August of my freshman  year.
What is your most significant takeaway  from being a member of the Batten Honors College?
My most  significant takeaway is that it takes all of us to make change.
What is the most prominent skill that you  have gained as a BHC student?
As a BHC  student I’ve gotten better at building and keeping my schedule for classes,  clubs, obligations and time to rest.
What advice would you offer to future  Batten Honors College students?
I would  tell future BHC students to prepare to organize your own schedule and be  accountable to your professors and your friends.
List of things involved with on campus?
I played  lacrosse for my freshman year, currently I’m the bass section leader in  Camerata and a member of Vox Vera. I’m the President of the SACH (Students  Against Continued Homelessness) and a frequent attendee of the Black Student  Union. I was a part of NMUN conference 2024 and won a position paper award alongside  my partner Ines Pouliquen.
List any rewards, recognitions, and/or  conference presentations
  I was  named 2023 emerging student leader of the year and SACH won ‘program of  distinction’ at the Bobbies 2023 for the reintroduction of the Shack-a-thon.
What are your future goals after  graduation?
After graduating, I  plan to become a music teacher at the high school level while I pursue a  graduate degree.
